The absolute worst.
1. He put in the wrong lens during my cataract surgery.2. My husband's lens was improperly inserted. It's off-center and we needed to go elsewhere to get it fixed. Worse, the post-op instructions were counter to standard industry care, for example, he was told he could go swimming the next day, which is very dangerous. Nor did he recommend a nightware eye shield.3. He diagnosed the lump in my eyelid as 'fat.' He removed it. It came back. He removed it again. It came back. Turned out to be a tumor. Went to a surgeon at Emory to have it taken care of.Just...don't go to this practice.

Do not use this Doctor!!! My eye was cut dying a procedure there and they lied about what happened. Also they tried to charge me $1500 for each for new kens replacement. They didn’t tell me that there were other options available for less money. Very disappointed in them. ??

He did my cataract surgeries in 2011. And my IOL placements. I choose him because I had experience in surgery with him. H e used to do retinal detachment surgery but stopped and refers that out. He is too busy with his primary surgicenter to stop and leave to do long emergency surgeries "on call".

The most dismissive, condescending and rude medical professional I have ever seen. He did my cataract surgery, implanted Panoptic lenses. I have serious issues with sight in left eye, saw him to discuss my concerns, and left the office in tears because of the way he spoke to me. I will seek another ophthalmologist!

Dr Ackerman stretched the iris in one eye during a cataract procedure. The pupil is now much larger than the other, doesn't focus properly and is misshapen (not round). I made a follow up appointment but was not allowed to talk to him without making a second appointment. At first he wouldn't accept responsibility for his mistake saying it could have been caused by a virus. He talked to me like I was a child that just couldn't understand anything. I do not recommend Dr Ackerman.

I recently had cataract surgery on both eyes, using implanted lens configured to my specific prescriptions. Dr. Ackerman and his staff were professional, organized and caring. This is like a "whole new world" for me. I am amazed anew each day by the brightness and vivid colors that I am enjoying. And, I do not need any type of glasses, not even "readers". This has increased my quality of life a thousand-fold. I only regret not having this done sooner.

Dr Ackerman may be a good doctor, but the office staff person in charge of sending medical records is most user-unfriendly; both weeks I've called, in trying to get records sent. There seems to be many roadblocks to getting records sent, including a $25 charge and a 30 - day waiting period. A very unfriendly conversation :-( both weeks of trying.

Does not have a system to contact if you have an eye problem..only answering machine. Would not go to him if you have a possibility of having an eye problem after hours on on a weekend.
