Dr. Bucknam was a wise and observant psychiatrist who listened carefully. The quiet ones, the deep thinkers, are analyzing and sifting through the information with his knowledge and training to come to his own conclusions. He held his own counsel and was extremely accurate in his conclusions. The right-on diagnoses and information he gave me proved to distill my issues to the most important point. That insight helped me greatly and has also been very insightful and useful to those who followed in helping me subsequent to his move. Also, the scripts he proscribed has been the right mix and has not needed to be changed since...though many years have passed.

I used to see Dr. Bucknam years ago, when he was in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The one thing I do remember about him was that he always looked drugged, and half asleep. In fact, there were a few occasions where he actually did fall asleep while I was talking to him. It was very unnerving, and I found myself another doctor!
