Dr.Burns was narcissistic and rude. Being a young female and having a body issue like the ones he treats is already embarrassing and uncomfortable enough but when a doctor comes in allowing you no privacy while changing and is rude the entire time just makes the entire situation worse. Being the age of 17 I never imagined a doctor to look at me and say drop your pants while never even leaving the room to offer me the tiniest big of privacy. I was extremely uncomfortable with the entire situation and would never recommend him to anyone. The staff was super nice thought however it was a really long wait 45 minutes.

cold, narcisitic, uncaring PLEASE just don't
I've suffered 13 yrs unable to eat w/nausea, swelling, severe pain between my right breast/shoulder blade, abdominal pain/swelling. I've lost 30 lbs. My MD sent me to Dr. Burns for exploratory surgery. As soon as he walked in he was cold, cruel, argumentative & condescending. I told him my MD referred me for exploratory surgery. He immediately said that’s not happening without even looking at all the medical records I brought him clearly showing something is wrong. He then became even more argumentative belittling me insinuating nothing was wrong with me. He just didn’t care, had no empathy/concern & blew me off like all the other doctors I’ve seen. I couldn't take it, got up, walked to the door, & told him "I literally attempted suicide a week before because of the suffering and exactly how you just treated me just like Dr. Dodson." I left & he didn’t to check on me or anything.

It was very rushed! I tried to ask questions he got rude. I tried to ask about follow up after procedure was told he would call. Was not in the exam room 3 minutes. And he was not even who I had an appointment with. He is also arrogant. The staff talked to me more than he did!

Dr. Burns is a wonderful surgeon who listens to your symptoms and orders only the necessary tests to find a solution to your problems. I would refer all of my family and friends to him. You will not go wrong when you put your trust in Dr. Burns!

When Dr. Burns came into the examination room his attitude was arrogant and hurried. I repeated the symptoms to him. He told me to lie down on the table. He inserted a finger into my rectum and told me I had bleeding fissure and or hemorrhoids. After two weeks of the same symptoms getting worse, I returned to my general practice doctor and he scheduled an appointment for me at the WVU Digestive Disease Center. After an examination, they had diagnosed me with “ulcerative colitis” and treated me.
