Dr Newsom is the best primary I’ve had.

Dr Newsom has been my PCP for a few years now. He sees everyone in my family and many family friends. He goes the extra mile to make sure his patients feel heard and cared for. Very personable and professional physician as well as staff. He was able to get my mother off of many medications she did not need after numerous doctors just kept giving her unneeded medications. I recommend him to everyone.

Dr. Newsom was my doctor for 3 years. I went to urgent care for a covid test and noticed they also did primary care. I asked about it and they sent Dr. N a medical records release form. I was never seen at urgent care to establish care because I was still making up my mind. I called Dr. N to get my prescriptions filled; I take anti psychotics which can cause seizures if I run out and he told me he wouldn’t refill them because I had gone to another doctor. It was extremely unethical to refuse my refills as I have been on them for over 15 years. I understand I signed a form but I never switched doctors, until today, because I had too. I will be filing a formal complaint with the NC state medical board. Also, as an aside, the front desk receptionist Misty, is incredibly rude.

Dr. Newsom is compassionate, thorough and relaxed. I never feel rushed. I always feel that he cares. His best quality is his outstanding listening skills. I can be fairly verbose. He patiently waits for me to stop talking and hears every word. It is so reassuring to have a physician who really listens. He then uses his experience and expertise to diagnose and treat.

Not so good. Does not seem to empathize well. Needs to review the hippocratic oath. Not willing to go the extra mile for his patients. Plenty of other better physicians out there. Some which will actually care about their patients and colleagues

Dr. Newsom is a reliable, well educated, and an excellent listener. He has excellent manners, well versed in medical issues, and pharmacology. In the past 7 months he has assisted me in getting out of control diabetes under control, with a combination of diet, exercise, and medication. I have brought my A1C down thanks to his assistance. His knowledge of medications is well informed and he is willing to do research if you bring up new meds that he might not be well versed in. He listens to you, talks to you, helps you take control of your medical needs, and understands if you have concerns and tries to address all of them. After 60 years of dealing with doctors to include being a paramedic for 20 years I can say I have found my perfect fit for a doctor.

Filled out new patient paperwork and was told I would be contacted for an appointment. After two weeks I called and was told the doctor didn't want me as a patient. That's called "cherry picking" I'm anemic that's my only problem! Sad that physicians don't want to treat anymore they just want cough and sneeze patients. Office was nice at first them became extremely rude and unhelpful. You should be able to trust your physician not afraid to tell them what is wrong with you!
