Early review for Dr. Obana. Five Plus stars! I received an appointment date three days after PCP referral. I flew in from Hilo and arrived at the doctor's office an hour early. Dr. Obana and his staff 'moved up' my appointment and saw me during their lunch hour. The time spent talking with the doctor was well spent as he examined the MRI results, explained the problem and possible surgery solution and answered all my questions quickly and effectively. Again, 5+ stars

Doctor Obana literally changed my life. I had gotten to the point where I was spending my days on the floor. Sitting was excruciating and walking was a challenge. I met with a few surgeons. Doctor Obana came highly recommended and was the most easy going and straight forward of all the surgeons I met. He said I would get most of my mobility back right after the surgery and did not need a brace (other doctors said I did). He was right with his surgery skills I was even off pain meds in 5 days. I have fully recovered and will forever be grateful to Dr. Obana.

Dr. Obana is the "Lebron James" of Neurosurgery because he has had a top-rated mainland medical education, a 20+ year neurosurgery practice, and has seen and experienced everything possible in the Operating Room. On the patient front, he spent more than an hour with me answering my questions, reviewing the procedure and the prognosis. My outcome was excellent - exactly as described. This doctor is one of the most talented doctors in the state of Hawaii.

Dr Obana explained to me the problem I was having after showing me from the MRI cd that I had 2 pinched nerves and and disc bulging. He explained excately what he was going to do.
