I have known Dr.Young for 25 years . I am so grateful for his patience and preserverence with anyone. He knows when to call 911. He is a military trained physician.

Seemed to listen to me at first. Redirected me to another dr to get my official diagnosis for adhd. Had 0 warning that they also decided to test me for ptsd, which was absolutely not okay. He tried 3 medications and when I told him my issues, for one of them he interrupted me and said I was clearly wrong bc he didnt have it listen but youll find the reaction w/ a simple google search. After all 3 didn't respond well with me, he told me he didn't know what to do with me and that I should see a different dr. He also completely forgot about me every appointment even though it was only 2 weeks apart and I'd have the same conversation repeatedly, and hed tell the same irrelevant stories about his life EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. He's also offered and suggested things like brain scans and dna test, which don't actually work. He got me my diagnosis and thats about it.

He is patient, calm, open, warm and knowledgeable, and I know without a doubt that he truly cares about my teen and how her world affects her. As for the time complaints some have, you know...things happen. Patients earlier that day might have had a crisis that took extra time. If you or your child/teen were in crisis, wouldn't you want your doctor to take some extra time to ensure you were truly OK to go? You just have to roll with it sometimes.

If you value your time, look elsewhere. This Dr. doesn't seem to know how to properly schedule patients. Worse yet, the staff has a double-standard and will give you a hard time if you're late or try to reschedule because you don't wish to hang around their office for an hour after your scheduled appointment to see the Dr. This is not normal!

Dr. Young is a comfortable psychiatrist to be around. Even his room gives a comfortable vibe with the warm colored lights and unique knick knacks. Don't be afraid to mention anything that concerns you, even if it may be negative. He'd even comfort you if you think what you did was wrong. He may beat around the bush when you ask a question, so if you don't get what he's getting at, don't hesitate to ask for a direct answer. A session is normally 45 min longer, but he will prolong it if necessary.
