I have been a patient with Dr. Yu for about 4 years now. I admire his personality, his knowledge and concern..Due to a vast number of surgeries that I've had; I use pain medication as a "maintenance drug"; I don't abuse it. My prescription is only a 30 day supply which is monitored by the DEA...for the reason that some people use it as a recreational drug...thus; the crackdown and monitoring of the narcotic. At times..I might have to take 4 in one day; rather than 3...and sometimes my next appt is more than 30 days away...Being on a maintenance drug, I take it 3 times a day...the days I don't..I feel very lethargic and moody..I'm debating whether to try some acupuncture or something else..

Dr. Yu is an excellent pain specialist. He is very compassionate and always takes time to talk with me about my chronic condition and the options for treatment. Also, his staff Laura and Betty have always been very friendly, knowledgeable with DOL-related items, courteous and accommodating. I highly recommend Dr. Yu’s practice.

After a severe car accident in 2013 that left me with a broken neck and lower back, I went thru several pain management doctors. FINALLY, I found Dr. Yu. I will never see anyone else again! Has helped me tremendously over the last two years. The main thing that got me was that he personally comes out to the waiting room to get you. I highly recommend. Deb Fitzgerald

Started with Dr. Yu in 2005 with my first back surgery when he helped me manage my pain until I healed. Fast forward 15 years and a 3 level spinal fusion, I am back. Initially I made the mistake of seeking out another pain management for location convenience and felt like a number vs a person. So glad to be back under the care of Dr. Yu during this difficult time in my journey. I am a massage therapist that needs to be healthy, pain free, and able to work all while carefully watching the effectiveness of various treatment plans. Highly recommend Dr. Yu.

I’ve been seeing Dr Yu for over 10 years for pain relief from a failed back surgery. His bedside manner is wonderful. He listens to what is happening and what may have happened to elevate my pain. He remembers everything about me and my family and asks how they are, especially my granddaughter. He works with me to keep my pain at a manageable level.

Dr. Yu totally missed the mark with me. Sent 4 a Federal OWCP 2nd Opinion. After the decision I received his notes. Was treated by my primary MD for 2 yrs 10 months. Spent 8 minutes & changed my rate to 4% from 40. I had to request he look at my most recent MRI which was from 6/2017, misquoted as 4/2015-the original. Said I was Caucasian-I'm black. Shook my rt hand which I told him not to do, he grabbed it anyway. Also said the OWCP paperwork was garbage. He couldn't treat my snake.

Dr. Yu's web site says he "believes that pain is a symptom, which is caused by various underlying diseases. Therefore, an accurate diagnosis is the key in resolving any painful condition.” Turns out that's not true. He relies on MRI and resisted doing any other tests I requested. Because I questioned him, he offered me no options for treatment for my SI joint pain, saying none would help me. $800 lost. Another doc sent me for PT, which has helped tremendously. See RateMDs for more details!

Dr Yu is very professional and highly competent. Initially he takes the time to listen to the patient then does his physical examination while explaining exactly what he is doing and why. He is personally responsive to any concerns. The experience is like no other medical experience I have ever had. You work directly with Dr Yu, he takes a very personal approach and shows an interest in you as a person.
