For a person who avoided/dreaded doctors, Dr. Gaertner put me at ease and was very professional. Although I knew I should've dealt with my issue sooner, I never heard that from him or any of his staff. He was very kind, explained everything, and answered any questions. Thankfully, my end results were good and I only require future monitoring. I highly recommend Dr. Gaertner and the entire team.

He is an amazing surgeon with a wonderful bedside manner. Dr Gaertner performed a robotic laparoscopic sigmoid resection on me to remove a cancerous tumor and I have to say that the results were fantastic. This guy saved my life! I would highly recommend Dr. Gaertner and the staff at the U of MN Hospital Colon Rectal Surgery Center. These are very kind and compassionate people.

He is a class act and the best of the best surgeons! Not only does he explain things in a clear way but he is also a really great listener and involved my boyfriend in the process of surgery just as much as me. We had gone to see two surgeons before contacting the University of MN and his knowledge, professionalism, and reassurance made us have no doubt about moving forward with my surgery. Thanks to him I have my life back after about eight years of agony and misdiagnosis!!!!

I had the great opportunity of being a patient of Dr. Gaertner. They surgery he recommended and performed has greatly improved the quality of my daily life. I would recommend Dr. Gaertner to family, friends or anyone looking for a caring, accommodating doctor/surgeon who is one of the very best in his field. He's very professional and greatly concerned about the care of his patients. When your in his care your in very good hands.
