Dismayed
I was left shocked and dismayed after my visit. During my short time in the waiting room, I heard front desk staff having conversations with patients (both in person and on the phone) - their tone and language was aggressive and condescending. I then overheard them making remarks about a patient after he left. In my experience, when the office staff are unprofessional and exhibit lack of care and consideration, it’s an indication of how the office is led and managed by the physician. Sure enough, Dr. Shin was extraordinarily dismissive, curt, and did not once exhibit care or concern during the visit. - No concern about the events leading up to the office visit- Didn’t even care to look at the paperwork or history before stepping in (that’s your job as a doctor)- To top it off, he forgot all about my prescriptionsWhat a complete letdown. It makes me lose heart in the caliber of true help and care out there. Visits to doctors should not be like this.

When I first visited Dr. Shin Won-seok five years ago, he used to engage in conversations with patients and responded well when questioned. However, nowadays, it seems like he only sees patients as sources of money, providing medical care with little dedication. Moreover, he forgets prescriptions and, when asked, instructs patients to wait at the hospital without issuing the necessary documents. The staff working at Dr. Shin Won-seok's clinic are also very rude, turning the hospital into an unpleasant and unprofessional place. Why Dr. Shin Won-seok does not realize that a hospital becomes chaotic when doctors prioritize money? Dr. Shin Won-seok, please get yourself together.

Chantilly front desk will hang up on patients
A staff member continues to be extremely rude and will have the audacity to hang up on ill patients who are calling to get advice on the best course of action. They will ACTUALLY REFUSE to pick up the line if you call back. I had to CONTINUE CALLING FOR 10 MIN. before a different staff member finally answered. Specifically, there's an older lady in her late 40s-mid 50s who sits in the back corner of the front desk. She is horribly curt and demands to know what your question is before understanding why you're even calling. She can't be bothered to do her job or have a modicum of customer service grace. She also gets irritated that I have to physically escort my senior parents into the different rooms during their visit and will state I have to leave the room. They have an onsite lab in the office and the technician, who is sweet but unfortunately incompetent, has to make several attempts to draw blood everytime . If you're a senior citizen, this can be very painful & stressful.

My wife and I have been patients for more than 2 years. We are completely satisfied with his services. His staff has been courteous and helpful to us. We are lucky to have him as our primary care physician. I recommend that people judge for themselves And not be persuaded by disgruntled patients who Make anonymous complaints on-line. It is impossible For any professional to satisfy everyone.

I have been going to Doc. Shin since he opened in his first location in Vienna. He is very good doctor. Very thorough, personable and understanding. The front office is extremely efficient, responsive and handles and request or question quickly. We have moved out of the area and am very sad not to be able to see him as my primary care giver any longer. I hope to find a replacement as competent as him .D.

If you read below, some complain about Dr. Shin's staff. I also found the staff unprofessional. They seem to be just spending their time there (as they are paid by hours) and do not seem to be interested in caring about the people.

My family and I went here 1.5 years ago. This practice is completely unethical. Their staff tried to force us to pay out of pocket saying our insurance co wouldn't cover our expenses. DO NOT LISTEN TO THEM. They harrassed us for 4 months saying that we had to pay out of pocket. We called the insurance company and they said that absolutely no statements were submitted from Dr. Shin's staff. This practice was going to have me and my insurance company pay for our treatment. Hopefully they changed.

I liked the doctor, he was thorough and polite. However, I would not go back to see him. I came to see Dr Shin for my annual physical. I did a blood test but no one called me back for about 2 weeks. I called and left a message but no one returned my call for almost a week. I called again and talked to a nurse. She reluctantly said she is sorry and told me test result came back and I have nothing to worry about. I am still not sure if she really had the test result.

This doctor has no compassion, is not thorough and does not look into problems until it is too late. If you have plans to see this doctor, run the other way. Go elsewhere!
