The best orthopedic I've ever been treated by. Dr. Patel performed 3 or 4 surgeries the last was a rotator cuff, bicep and slap tear. Dr. Patel checks all the boxes. He's professional, friendly, informative but not pushy. He wants the best outcome for his patient. I just wish he had an office in Montgomery County as well!

14 minutes agoNEW I had a labral tear surgery in December 2020. I never quite healed correctly and had a follow up with the PA. She started the appointment with range of motion movements (seemed normal). When I experienced pain, she said it could be a tear. She then mentioned an arthroscopic procedure that was “not a big deal” (the surgery I already had in December- which is a big deal). She left to get paperwork and I was pretty upset- thinking she was telling me I’d need a repeat surgery. She came back and said that she’d give me an order for an arthrogram and that I shouldn’t worry because the surgery -if that’s what I needed- was just two small incisions and they could repair the labrum. I said, “I know. I already had that surgery.” She had no idea that I’d had the surgery already. She had treated me the entire appointment as a new case, when in fact I was a follow up from the very surgery Dr. Patel had performed on me. I’m sorry, but that is ridiculous.

I have been seeing Dr. Patel for a broken ankle and broken foot, both at the same time. He has been very patient, thorough in his explanations and realistic and optimistic with my prognosis.

I was very happy with Dr. Patel from the moment I had to meet him after my femur fracture until well after surgery. He is personable and kind and easy to talk to. I highly recommend his care and expertise.

I worked with Dr. Patel for almost four years. After an MRI he called me at work and told me that I clearly had to have surgery right away and then when I followed up for a date for surgery he informed me that it was not really a pressing matter. He told me about the use of gel injections to ease my arthritis pain and that it would be a logical next step after cortisone injections failed but did not tell me that it destroyed muscle, forever. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND

Dr. Patel is excellent at conservative treatments that work their way to surgery, rather than simply putting a patient under the knife at the get-go. We tried injections and physical therapy first. When that did not show improvements then we discussed surgery. He was kind, respectful, explained things well and communicated thoroughly. My surgery went very well and I recuperated with full use of my knee. When my mother needed knee surgery, I recommended she see him and it went very well.

With an acute ankle fracture at age 59 and facing no driving or weight bearing for 3 months, I was devastated. Since seen in ER, I had to wear their soft cast and use crutches until the next business day to see Dr.Patel. He was the assigned Doctor from Carroll. I tried to get casted earlier, but was glad I did not switch doctors. I have my masters In nursing. I was completely shocked at the amount of time and care I received at each visit and to return to work. Five stars for this Doc.
