Dr. Yesenia Valdez, MD

Dr. Valdez is not someone I would consider a Health at Every Size (HAES) provider; however, aside from that she provided all the essentials that one might look for in a PCP. From ensuring I was updated on the labs to providing the referrals that she felt I needed. She then offered telehealth or in-person appointments which is great for accessibility. I will also say that I thought it was great that she is Latina as that was an identity that you don't see often in the healthcare field for doctors and truly can make an impact in understanding patients who have that same identity.

Yesenia has been the only Dr in almost 10 years that really listened to me and helped me find the root of my problem. I cannot be more happy that I found her.

I would definitely recommend this doctor. She’s wonderful in every way. Dr. Valdez always takes the time to explain and discuss the options available to me. She always makes me feel that I’m allowed to take part in the decisions that will effect me. She has an approach to medicine that’s both unique and refreshing. I truly trust her judgement and expertise. I’m very happy to have found her.

Definitely a class act. She is an encyclopedia of knowledge. Not condescending like some doctors. My last doctor made me feel rushed and like I was a bother whenever I asked a question. Dr. Valdez never makes me feel rushed or makes me feel bad for having questions. She puts the care in healthcare. If you aren’t happy with your current doctor or just searching for one, she’s your best pick. Very glad I found her and I would definitely recommend her to anyone who asks.

Being new in town I had to leave my old doctor behind. I was having a hard time finding a new doctor here in Chicago. I tried a few but I just didn’t feel comfortable with them. She has an amazing personality and an innate ability to communicate in a way that is both insightful and warm. She takes the time to explain things to her patients. She is always ready to answer any questions you may have. You will never feel rushed or made to feel bad for asking questions. She has a true natural born talent to be a doctor and she is exceptional in the field of medicine. For a long time after I was forced to switch my insurance company and had to leave my long-time primary care physician, I had went from doctor to doctor and was never able to feel comfortable with the care I was receiving.
