Totally failed by this doctor
This doctor totally failed me. He would come in with an agenda that he wanted to talk about. That would take awhile. Sometimes he had to search for the words he wanted, or sometimes I needed to ask him to repeat what he'd said. In the approx. 18 months I went to him, I cannot remember him ever asking me how I was doing (I had a rheumatological dx from a previous doctor.) He did not once do a physical exam nor did he ever exam or check any of my joints. Not once. The only blood tests that he ever did were at my request. After he would finish with his agenda at each appointment, there might be time for me to ask one question. Then he would turn his back and be out the door and into his office. Sometimes he stood in the hall by his office and talked to me about my personal health loud enough so that the staff could all hear it and likely those in the waiting room as well. In the end, he blew off my previous dx despite my serious pain and inflam, so I left and found a new doc.

Denise (SP) Will Keep Good Customers Away
I would have loved to talk to Dr. Fan but his front office staff is a piece of work. Denise (SP) told me on the call I had to fill out the new patient paper work. I explained to her mailing it to my physical address may not get to me and if she emailed it to me, I would maybe be able to print it out if I went into the office, work from home. I did neither and she asked to be there early. I was 30 minutes early. She got rude because I was not an hour early, which was never said, and that I did not have time to fill out the paperwork, no one was there and I can fill out my medical history in 10 minutes. She then said, did you read the sign, well it was my first time there, so no I didnt read it till that day I showed up. My kid even said she was rude. Prior to going in when we made a call to ask for directions, you would have thought I was interrupting the most important thing in the world. If that is what I have to deal with each time I go in, I will go somewhere else and I am.

Excellent doctor!
He listens very well and treated me based on my symptoms, not just the lab results alone. Best Rheumatologist I’ve personally ever been to, and I’ve seen a lot. Dr. Fam helped to alleviate excruciating pain I was experiencing for 4 months, when several other doctors provided no pain relief at all. Excellent doctor!

VERY Good Doctor
I was one of Dr. Fan's first patients over 20 years ago. I had several other rheumatologist before him and had to change because of insurance changes. It was a blessing that I finally saw Dr. Fan. Once I finally had a diagnosis after years of increasing pain and no answers, this doctor got me on a treatment plan that put me in remission for better than 15 years. He is attentive and truthful, making you a part of the decision making for your treatment. His nurse CeeCee who is one of those rare individuals that truly make people feel special, and is a true advocate for the patients. These people have made my life much better...

I really like Dr Fan
Dr Fan is probably the only doctor I have ever been to (and believe me, there have been alot!) to treats me as a truly intelligent patient. He freely discusses research, statistics, etc., and that is right up my tree since I am academic in nature. I really like Dr. Fan.

not a fan
Not a fan of Dr. Fan's office. I went for my first appointment today, that my PCP recommended as he was the first rheumatologist I could get in to see. His office sent me reminders but never any link to the patient portal. I arrived on time and was asked if I had my New Patient Package. I did not, nor did any of the correspondence talk about that. The receptionist said she told me when I made my appointment that I needed to fill that out, but never sent information on how to go to get it. She was very flustered and told me to wait. After five minutes, I knocked on the closed window and she told me very rudely that she would get to me in a minute. There were no other patients there (no surprise now). After 10 minutes, at 11:10, she opened the window and gave me the packet but told me that I would have to reschedule. I told her I could fill it out quickly, and to please let me see Dr. Fan as I have desperately been waiting to see him for weeks. She said they had other patients. I asked w

Condescending and rude, and didn't care a wit about me. It was like he didn't even read my previous notes from my rheumatologist who retired and transferred to him. Worst experience with a doctor ever and it has caused me anxiety with other doctors from being treated so poorly.

I was in a very dark time in my life living with PsA, in my journey, Ive been with them for a while and I am very thankful how patient and helpful everyone is here with me, they check everything and walk you through all the process required to help you get back on your feet, since I've been here the receptionist has always been personable, and really genuine, and understanding with people in line and Dr Fan will evaluate you and give you his honest advice and guide you through your journey, I am able to work and live life comfortably, and found relief thanks to the amazing people that work here!

I have been a patient of Dr. Fan’s since 2003. I live in Denton and it can seem like a long drive to my appt. I would not choose to go anywhere else. I trust him. He is kind and always answers every question that I have. I like his staff as well. He is a wonderful doctor and I appreciate he and his staff putting up with me all these years.

Dr Fan is fabulous. He is so knowledgable about all expertise. I wish he was my internist. I have been going to him for years. Dr Cheatom told me personally that he had hand picked Dr Fan to take over his practice when he retired. Be patient. You won’t be sorry.

I wouldn't know what Dr. Fan is like, because I've never actually seen him. I was transferred to his office because my original rheumatologist retired. After a LOT of hassle and rudeness on the part of his office staff, I saw Dr. Decardenes (sp?) twice. I actually can't remember if she is a doctor or assistant, but she was wonderful- kind, caring, and knowledgeable. I didn't even mind that the office was far from my home because I liked her so much. But since the last time I'd seen her, I've requested to speak with her on the phone and the front office refuses to allow it. They have argued with me about insurance referrals, hung up on me more than twice, and have been outright rude to me when they did deign to speak to me. When I told them I needed an approximate date for a visit so I could obtain a referral from my primary physician, they said, "That's Dr. Smith's (pseudonym) problem." Then she (her name was Dee) hung up on me once more. I just sat down and cried.

After seeing Dr. Fan in the past years, it was easy to get into the office, now that Dr, Cheatum office has closed it is sad. The poor nurses are running around doing their best to take care of everyone that they cant take a break. Dr. Cheatum’s patients come in and are rude to these nice ladies and give them a hard time. I used to be a Cheatum patient and i waited for hours. I know this is a change for there office and they get us back as quick as they can. I love this office still!!!!

Treated by Dr Fan appx 2012-2014. Everything great. I checked he was in my Humana network . I tried to get an appointment week before last. Was told he was not in my network, I'd have to pay out of network. Checked with Humana again, they verified he WAS in my insurance plan. Called office back, they advised I would be charged out of network rates. I asked the office manager give me a call. She never called. I called back, and a week 1/2 later, they still haven't sent my records to new doc
