I think she's great
Clearly I'm in the minority but I think Dr. Hsu is great. I haven't had her for a pregnancy, just for routine gynecological care- but I like her no-nonsense attitude. I particularly like that she has patients sit in her office with her prior to the exam.

Do not recommend as OBGYN
I had her for my first preganncy and I do not recommend her. She took 2 min per visit, she didnt inform me about anything important, and she did not seam to care at all. I had to ask my sister what her doctor told her instead, since we were pregnant at the same time. I wish I could switch doctor but it was to late by the time I decided that I didnt want to use her any more. If this is your first pregnancy dont use her. She is fine as a gynecologist though...

Do Not Recommend
Had Dr Hsu for my recent pregnancy. Bad experience overall. She doesn't discuss with, let alone educate her patients. I initiated most pregnancy related topics, otherwise I'm confident they wouldn't be addressed. One appt lasted about 3 mins, really. A quick fetal heartbeat check and 'how're you feeling?' and she was out the door. I know of several women assigned to other UCLA OBs with much more helpful and positive experiences. I regret not switching.

Awful provider
Seemed to ignore our concerns/questions entirely and rushed in a way that resulted in unnecessary complications. Surprised UCLA would keep such a liability among an otherwise friendly, competent staff.

Very cold and not receptive to patient needs or concerns. Find another doctor. Regret my decision to stay with her for as long as I did.

I do not recommend her. She was my OB during pregnancy and seemed to get very defensive and irritated when asked questions. She did get better when i brought it up but i saw her 2 years later and it was the same thing.

The worse Dc ever! She would spent 4 mins w/ me. She's RUDE, COLD and she careless for you. I got a HUGE womb infection bc she decided to pump some medication which is for elbow and knee surgery into my belly right after my Csection. She took zero responsibility. In the end she told the that " an old woman" shouldn't get pregnant. I was 41, pregnant of my third child. Deserves a Zero star! The only good person is Adriana the nurse. Very sweet!!!!

Dr. Hsu delivered my first and only child. She made the whole journey a good one for me and my husband. That was three years ago and I still have good memories. She was attentive, professional and a blessing to our family.

I visited Dr. Hsu for my first pre-natal appointment. She was very short with me and seemed annoyed to answer my questions. I felt like she was rushing me. She did not even counsel me until I asked her what was ok vs. not ok during pregnancy, etc. I asked for handouts and she even hesitated to give me this information. I am a healthcare provider at UCLA myself and could not believe her attitude. She does not demonstrate "CI CARE". I would never recommend her based on the way I was treated.

Cold, condescending, didn't listen to me, and billed me $300 for unnecessary services. I needed my IUD replaced and saw that she had some bad reviews, but figured it was routine & couldn't be that bad. WRONG. I walked into the appointment & told her that I faint easily and needed an alcohol swab and to breathe into it to be comfortable. She didn't listen when I said it hurt to much and started crying in pain, & I immediately fainted. Woke up 5 minutes latter to a $300 bill for unnecessary add-on

Cold, in a rush, and I was unfortnate to have her the on call doctor when I was in labor, as she's inexperienced with challenging births. Every time she entered the room while I was in labor, she was discouraging, unhelpful, and did everything to demotivate me and the nurses who were helping me. Rushed me to a C-section when I probably could've had a vaginal birth.

I love Dr Hsu! She has such a a good bedside manner and is so compassionate and caring. When my first pregnancy did not complete, she hugged me and comforted me and that made me feel so good. She is professional, and down to earth. I know when I go to her office I won't be there for hours. She doesn't keep me waiting forever and takes care of me like a friend would.

Horrible experience. She has no interest in her job and is always in a hurry to move out. Not passionate about her profession. Upon asking her how accurate is the size estimate of the baby her reply was If I knew that, I would be really rich and not here. Our baby died for no apparent reason. That might not be directly because of her but I can confidently say that she did not do everything to give us the utmost care. Find someone else immediately.
