Dr. Yvette Sheline, MD

I was asked to speak to her for her to give a final decision if I was suitable for a certain study relating to depression. For context, I've had treatment-resistant depression for decades and tried multiple medications that didn't work. She coldly asked some questions and I began to cry...she then said she didn't think my condition was 'severe enough'. (I've been clinically depressed for 30 years) Her saying that to me was like saying to me 'you aren't really suffering'. She had no concept of how depressed I've been and just dismissed me. Her manner with patients is abhorrent and I left that call feeling more hopeless than ever before because I was reaching out for help and finally trying to do a different treatment...and I was told, essentially, 'yeah, you're not that bad'...when I am significantly suffering. Avoid this woman at all costs. She has no bedside manner and you'll leave feeling worse. Please know it's her, not you, if you have a similar experience. She's awful.
