Great Doctor!
I’ve been seeing Dr. Sarmast for 5 years now, since he was at his last office on Telegraph and Ford rd. I was having wrist pain for years and when I came here I was diagnosed with Carpal Tunnel. Ever since my diagnosis I’ve been treated with cortisone shots and they do help for pain immensely. As someone who has been coming to see him for years it seems like the shots aren’t as effective as they were when I first started coming. Could be due to the type of work I do and repetitive motion. My last appointment I asked about surgery. They were very good with telling me how the surgery is performed and the recovery after. I love this office and all the employees are very nice. Never had a bad experience here. Only reason this is not 5 star review is due to appointment scheduling. Dr. Sarmast works mainly out of Grand Rapids and is not at the Dearborn location as much. So if you’re in pain it makes getting an appointment sooner than later a bit hectic. Highly recommend him and this office.

Great Experience!
I had other drs look at my hand and they kept telling me I had carpatunel even though the tests came back negative. Dr. Sarmast did a exam and a xray and figured out my issue right away (arthritis in my thumb). He showed me and it was very clear he was correct. He performed surgury and I can now open jars and doors that I could not open before. I have more strength then i had before. The pain in my hand is so much better. Dr Sarmast was friendly and answered any questions I had.

Dr doesn’t care
I’ve been having severe wrist pain for years, along with swelling and bruising. He said that this is “normal” for women my age and that there’s nothing he can do to help. He says there is nothing wrong with me. Obviously there is, or else I wouldn’t have the swelling, bruising, or pain! Very frustrating.

Dr. Sarmast was very helpful in diagnosing wrist and shoulder problem; he then provided injections which relieve the pain in both so I did not need surgery

Worst doctor I ever dealth with
He lied to me multiple times and charged me for for x-rays, CTs, and MRI that came with radiologist notes. He ruined my elbow by doing intensive debridement that was not necessary. I came for tennis elbow pain but connived me into surgery and said it would be easy quick surgery. He just wants the insurance money! I don't recommend Zubair Sarmast for anyone.

Uncaring
Worst doctor I have ever seen, he literally has ruined my life! Not only did he ingore my symptoms he made up a false diagnosis to get rid of me! I wasted over a year of my life thinking this surgeon was working on having surgery approved. But he is not capable of doing anything but saying that your pain and suffering is interesting!! He also told me there's was nothing else I could do to ease my tendinitis pain and now he does not want to operate? Within a month a new doctor had me scheduled with a hand therapist and non narcotic medication that is actually helping me. But all Dr Sarmast wanted to do is cut me open or make me suffer. He had no clue how to even treat tendinitis and he is supposed to be a expert! My treatment plan for over a year was to take pain medication and wait. He could not even give me a clear answer on what he would actually operate on. I do not use the word hate freely, but I honestly HATE this man for his lack of empathy, support, and knowledge.

Came in with wrist pain that had lasted 6 months; was very nonchalant in telling me that the pain I felt was “normal for women my age” and that they “don’t know what causes it”. He suggested physical therapy, weaning off of the wrist brace I’d been wearing, or a Cortisone shot. I decided to get the shot, and when he gave it to me, he did not numb the area despite having the spray on an adjacent desk, and completely ignored my cries of pain. Once it was over I nearly passed out and had to have my grandmother who was with me assist me out to the car. NO ONE asked if I was okay. For about 20-30 minutes afterwards, BOTH of my hands seized up, my hands and arms went numb, my throat felt like it was closing, and I broke out in a horrible sweat. Definitely do not recommend this “”doctor”” to even my worst enemy.

My hands are my lively hood. As a plant worker, for GM, I knew something was wrong with my shoulder. turned out to be a small tear, but the pain was excruciating. was given a steroid shot that seems to help. I know eventually, that sure will be scheduled to fix the underlying pain.

it was assumed for years that I had carpal tunnel. Dr. O thought it was time to get it checked out by a specialist. Dr. Sarmast had a nerve test that ordered which stated what we assumed. excited for the upcoming surgery. forgot what its like to live without pain.

as a middle aged man, i've been dealing with arthritis since i was a teen (multiple sport injuries). family doctor says to me that i need a total shoulder replacement. i do not think my pain is THAT bad. Was glad to know that a steroid shot given every few months can help until i decide to do the surgery. The injection was painful, but a better alternative for right now. for me.

my family doc thought it would be worth my time to get a mass on my finger looked at. it wasn't causing me any pain, just looked funny. had it removed with very little issue. he suggested hand therapy, but when I stated that I wasn't interested, he showed me some stretches to do at home. he was genuinely interested in my well being. The mass wasn't causing pain, but I'm glad its gone.

I saw Dr Sarmast for a cyst and thumb pain. He listened to me and told me what he thought was the problem. When I asked a question about the tingling he immediately said that was another issue and scheduled me for an EMG. I ended up with surgery, but all went well. I had issues with getting messages/questions answered via phone and text and when I mentioned it, Dr Sarmast looked into the problem. The next time I had to leave a message I was called back very quickly. I would recommend him to any with hand and/or finger problems.
