Dr. Zvi Alpern, MD

Dr. Alpern is an excellent physician, thorough and professional. He is also a kind and compassionate human being.

My husband went for a colonoscopy and after the prep he waited over an hour at the office then was told he may be an additional hour wait. Especially after he was called and was told “running on time”. This doctor doesn’t take his patients time into consideration. We understand things happen but my husband’s first visit was also very late but I guess we made the mistake of trying him again. Will nit be going back there.

1 STAR IS TO MUCH!!!!! AVOID THIS DOCTOR ZVI ALPERN AT ALL COST !!! DOES NOT LISTEN OR COMPREHEND WHAT PATIENT SAY ABOUT MEDICAL HISTORY, WILL DELAY, AND CAUSE YOU ADDITIONAL PAIN AND MEDICAL COST. THEN TELL YOU TO FIND A DIFFERENT DOCTOR AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. SAD THING HE WORKS OUT OF ST. CATHERINE HOSPITAL AND REPRESENT THEM.AND GIVES THEM A BAD NAME. AVOID HIM AT ALL COST!!!! THERE ARE MANY BETTER GI DOCTORS ON LONG ISLAND !!!!

My mother was a patient of dr Alpern for many years. After she was diagnosed with cancer, & made an emergency call to him, he asked her to meet him in his office, this was early AM. As she was walking into the bldg. he was walking out, knowing she came to see him. We waited in office, no other patients were there, & waited & waited as my mother was getting sicker & sicker with chills, fever. His lovely receptionist tried to call him, but there my mom sat. No blankets or sheets, the receptionist was kind enough to to give my mom her jacket. After an hour or so, my mom was wheeled into the emergency room. WE NEVER SAW him. My mother wound up havIng sepsis after a bout with C diff. I will never forgive him his unprofessionalism as he kept my sick mother waiting with absolutely no regard to her health. I highly disagree with his practices & would NEVER recommend him. Find someone who actually cares about the well being of his patients. Also he triple books appts so expect to wait hours

During the period of corona-virus pandemic time when the government encouraged doctors to use Telehealth system. After her test my wife (senior citizen) was suggested by Dr. Alpern to see him for discussions of the test results and receive the prescription. She asked doctor to discuss her situation on phone and to send her prescription directly to the pharmacy instead of visiting doctor's office. The doctor refused to satisfy her request. Not being ever on time Dr. Alpern invited her in his office only after 2 hours of her waiting after her appointment time. All that time my wife was exposed to other patients in the doctor's waiting room. The only thing doctor did - he gave her the prescription for the antibiotic medication. I and my wife are very much disappointed with this episode of the doctor's lack of concern about his patient's health during the pandemic time.

Unprofessional. Working because he has to. Resentful of his irresponsible lifestyle. I'm not his psychiatrist and I am surely not going to be his patient.

Dr. Alpert was consulted to care for my mother during a recent hospitalization. As a healthcare professional, I appreciated his thoroughness. He fully explained everything,. After speaking with him, I felt very comfortable hat he was involved in her care. We contacted his office a couple of times when we wanted to speak with him. His staff was very helpful & very nice.
