She is the rudest and most unprofessional medical person I’ve ever met. I told her that I didn’t want vaginal checks because my water had ruptured and she kept pressuring me to have one. I kept telling her “no” because I was afraid of infection. She still kept pressuring me and didn’t listen to me at all. There was a point during my labor where my husband had to tell her to leave me alone and I flat out told her she is rude. After the baby came, she apologized but holy cow, she made my birth experience SO stressful! I would NEVER recommend her to anyone! I regret not kicking her out of the delivery room and asking for another midwife. This review is really negative along with the other ones for a good reason. She has the worst people skills and should look for a different career.

Avoid Like the Plague
Alyssa is the most unsympathetic person in the medical field I've ever encountered. She will talk down to you and act as if you've inconvenienced her by coming the appointment. More than once she suggested a treatment/medication, and she did not have an answer when I asked of potential side effects. It's baffling that she is still employed as a midwife. Now that we're on baby #2, we know that we can schedule with a particular midwife. Last appointment, the receptionist told us we were supposed to meet with Allyson (not who we had scheduled with), so we rescheduled for later in the week. It was worth the 45 minute (round-trip) drive 2x in a week to not have to meet with her. All of the other midwives are AMAZING, but I don't know what we would've done if we had her in the delivery room with us for our first child.

I just went because I needed a pap smear and a birth control refill and she was very nice, but she seemed more uncomfortable than me. If you're just going in for basic stuff and don't care about gyno visits she's fine, talks through everything, but if you're sensitive at all to it or nervous maybe pick someone else.

I don't know why her ratings aren't off the roof bcs she was amazing during my delivery! Heck, she DID the delivery AND the stitching afterwards when I had a second degree tear. All the doctors were stuck in the ER and I was in labor so she basically saved me andy baby. She was confident and poised. Made me feel taken care of. This was in 2019 but I still think of her and how she managed everything that day. I couldn't catch her name that day (I know) and recently saw it in my file during a visit to the doctor. She's amazing!!!!

She turned my babies birth into a nightmare. How a person like this can be a midwife and still be employed is mind boggling. I was already in a place I never wished to be in and from start to finish there was not one drop of empathy or words of encouragement.

I love all the other midwives at the Women's Clinic of Northern Colorado. As for Alyssa, I do not enjoy working with her in any way. She was present during my labor and fortunately her shift ended before I gave birth. She is quite rude and unhelpful. She told me I needed to take Cytotec to help my cervix thin out, and I asked her what the side effects were. She could not answer that question. How she is still employed as a midwife here is beyond me. I know many women who dislike working with her
