Diabetes specialist who doesn't do pumps!!!
I've been continuously prescribed insulin for 47 years. My A1c is routinely below 6.2 with few low BGs. I moved and had to establish a new primary care provider. Amy was promoted by Essentia as diabetes specialist. She refused to prescribe me insulin unless I paid out of pocket to go to Essentia's diabetes management clinic. I have taken charge of my diabetes management for 47 years and the results show with NO complications and outstanding A1c's. This seemed to be clear retribution for me questioning why Essentia's blood lab tests were 3-4 times more expensive that Fairview Clinic in the Twin Cities. Corporate profits before Patients. What else can you say? Pathetic!

She listens and hears what you are saving. She offers excellent advice but lets you know it is totally up to you to make the decision - she will help you every step of the way! She looks for alternatives and does not suggest testing or procedures that do nothing more than "pad the bottom line" but the results will not change the treatment. She is a top-rated caregiver and an excellent professional to work with.
