Unfortunate experience
The most irritating thing that happened was Dr. Katz kept asking me the same questions I'd already answered. As a person with severe anxiety and depression, this was disheartening. I needed someone more organized than myself to assist me, not make it worse. I also felt that a complete medical history, including surgeries, was unnecessary and slightly invasive. You might want to skip this one and find help elsewhere. My daughter is a nurse and is helping to guide me through this, even she felt that a clinical psychologist wouldn't be a good fit. I just need a good counselor for talk therapy and tools for emotional control.

Please look elsewhere!
She doesn’t actually listen to her clients. It was only our second session. I was trying to explain to her why had the feelings I did in my marriage and she completely ignored me and blamed me for not listening to my wife. She said I was a poor communicator before even hearing the reasons why I felt the way I did. She proceeded to tell me that I wasn’t making decisions in my life. Then she told me I have to weigh the pros and cons of the decisions I was making because they were big and I was making them too fast. Then she told me that I was hesitant to make decisions. By the end we were literally arguing. Mind you the whole time, she was eating snacks, accepting packages, and moving things around in her home. I know all of this because I am a great listener and from the clarity and length of this post a great communicator as well. If you need help look elsewhere. Seriously. I got these sessions for free through my work and I still want a refund.

We met with Dr Katz for about 3 months for marriage counseling. She has the distracting habit of glancing at her clock every couple minutes during a counseling session. My husband was unhappy that she would often interrupt him while he was sharing something. My first solo session with her she came 15 minutes late, but still ended at regular time and charged me for full half hour session.
