absolutely the best practitioner I have had. She was able to my daughter's ADHD & Bi-Polar under control gave her the tools to become a success. (graduated with honors) She listened, and understands when she took me on as a patient she got me through losing both parents and dealing with the fall out of family. couldn't of asked for a better support system.

Absolutely awful. Same complaints as everyone else--she doesn't listen to anything you say. Rushes you through the appointment, tells you to "speed it up", dismisses your thoughts and concerns. Decided 2 minutes after first meeting me what she was going to prescribe even though I told her those medications make me suicidal. Extremely rude and condescending and seems like she is suspicious of you at all times. I don't understand how she is still allowed to see patients, this was the worst experience I have ever had with a "psychiatrist" (which she isn't...she is a nurse practitioner).

ALL of these ratings are spot on. Avoid this woman at all costs! My experience with Anna Elwood came after being discharged from the inpatient psychiatric hospital Brook Lane for being suicidal. During my stay, my therapist and psychiatrist were great. Sweet, caring, non-judgmental, they really listened to my story (which is quite long). The most important note being that they took the time to understand how my medical conditions were affecting my mental health. Ms Elwood was practically the exact opposite. She VERY obviously wanted to rush through our appointment. She kept mentioning the time limit, etc. She was rude, condescending, arrogant... the furthest thing from comforting, compassionate, and understanding. She wouldn't listen to me when I tried to explain things, cut me off, rushed me, and left me feeling shamed, disappointed, harshly judged (already have this issue with doctors). I felt betrayed and abandoned. Again. I WILL be letting Brook Lane know how awful she is.

She is not to be trusted, avoid her at all cost. She does not care about your mental status, will not prescribe you medication, she will not listen to your problems, she does not care about your mental status, she cancels scheduled appointments without telling you, she needs to have her license revoked

Horrible. She actually illegally demanded a HIV and Hep C test on my brother during his intake. If I did not see his paperwork, he would have never caught that. She also told him he was lying about his mental health and yet, 2 Psychiatrist and a Psychologist had deemed him eligible for SSI-D. Who tells someone that has been seen by 2 Psychiatrist that he is lying. She needs her license revoked.

Anna Elwood got her Masters degree in her field from University of Phoenix, an online correspondence class. So in addition to a lack of empathy, she also lacks expertise and knowledge in her field - a bad combination. Strongly advise to avoid

My main concern was my anxiety. She was friendly, but when it came to medications she was stuck on giving me medications I had already been on and told me that if I was not willing to increase my prozac (after reporting Id been lowering doses under another doc's care), there was no reason being on the medication I was on. My response was to take me off it and explore other options and I left with a script for a higher dose of prozac. She made alot of wrong assumptions about me in an hour time.
