Barbara Bates, LCSW

I have been to probably 10 therapists, and Barbara was by far the most beneficial and competent in helping me identify my needs heal. When I first met her, I had almost given up on therapy completely, but she was able to help me more than I thought I could be helped. Also, she always asked the most poignant questions, causing me to have my own insights, sometimes days after our last appointment. She is also so much more compassionate than other therapists I've been to. When I would tell her something sad or I'd cry in a session, I could see genuine love and caring in her eyes. She always saw me as an individual instead of a paycheck. But for sure the greatest transformation I had while working with her was the disappearance of the toxic shame I had developed from childhood trauma. It went away so smoothly that I didn't even realized it til later. So, I didn't get to tell her about it, but things have only gotten better for me since. I really cannot recommend her enough.
