Barbara has been a God-send. I saw her at a very low point in my life where I could have continued on in the same negative patterns. She was able to help me see things as they truly are so that I was able to break away from things that were holding me back from reaching my true potential. She is very easy to converse with and has a wonderful manner that always puts a person at ease. I highly recommend her.

Ms Despres reached me promptly, and we made a mutually agreeable appt , The time was easy, the location close. I worked with Barbara for about 1.5 years and primarily stopped because of loss of insurance, but also felt like I had learned and grown so much in my time with her that I felt ready to handle issues in my life with more confidence. While I had a major connection to her due to our same religious beliefs (something I was looking for in a therapist for myself), I have no doubt that she is open and helpful for clients of any background. Barbara also allowed for a joint therapy session with someone I was having primary issues with and handled it very well; so if you are having issues with a particular person and they are willing, a session with Barbara might be helpful.

During a period of much transition and upheaval in my life, a friend suggested Barbara. Knowing my struggle to find a therapist who would be the right fit and within my insurance provider guidelines, my friend's suggested resulted in a fantastic match. Barbara's clam office setting and her overall calm and kind presence has greatly helped me navigate and process situations and experiences that need much healing and, well, processing. I was really surprised to read a negative review about Barbara Despres until the reviewer mentioned a “receptionist”- which she has never had, ever. Not sure who that reviewer is talking about but it certainly is not this Barbara. I’ve been seeing Barbara Despres for many years now and I cannot put into words how much she has helped me. She is extremely calming, understanding, and intelligent. 100% recommend.

I’ve been seeing Barbara for almost a year and my whole life I was recognising patterns in my life that I just kept repeating but didn’t know why and didn’t know how to change. She’s helped me understand so much more about myself and now I’m able to trust my choices more with her help. She feels like family yet so professional.
