Barbara is an excellent therapist to address marital problems/adjustment issues. She is smart, warm, and kind. She believes sex addiction is synonymous with other addictions. She subscribes to a co-addict model for partners. She does not utilize psychological testing. She relies on addicts self report of their behaviors without any verification. She unwittingly places the partner at risk for more abuse. She does not identify systemic patterns of abuse within a relationship with a sex addict.
