Dr. Betty Russell, PHD

Dr. Russell is out of touch with modern times. I am a LCSW, MSW and working towards my Ph.d. At first Dr. Russell seemed knowledgeable in her field. After a few months it was clear she was Simply regurgitating what she had read and outdated books. My children began to feel bullied as did my husband and I. Dr. Russell seems very rigid.

This woman is worthless as a therapist. Took my teenager who struggles with substance abuse to see her and she made very inappropriate mean comments about child in front of them. DO NOT take your kids to her

This "Doctor" has the strangest approach to child therapy that I have ever witnessed. Her approach is not to heal the child or family issues, but rather to listen to one perspective (the child's) and demand that the child's requests be honored, regardless of the situation. In my perspective, her approach that children should be given whatever they want is DANGEROUS. Rather than helping them process their emotions and help them understand that they should be worked through in an effort to make the family unit work as a whole, she will encourage discord based on biased, one-sided accounts, and ZERO facts. Children should be guided to work together with family members to heal the family's issues, especially in the absence of any abuse or neglect. Dr. Russell will not encourage healing of the child, She will TEAR YOUR FAMILY APART and turn your child against whomever the "Doctor" perceives to be the offending party. Stay away from this therapist - she will hurt your child and your family!

Do not bring your children to see this woman. She is worthless.

Dr. Russell heard me. There was no judgement. At the first session, I left with a tool and valuable information to begin healing. Dr. Russell gets to the point. I highly respect the summary of her education, philosophy, website links to check her license and background, and commitment to get right down to work.
