Bonnie James, PA-C

I initially felt the same about PA James as the previous reviewer, but I was a new patient and fresh out of the army. Quite frankly, I was expecting too much. I was frustrated with the VA in general. PA James is great, though. Her nurse is awesome, too. It took a while for me to build my trust in her. I’ve seen her numerous times for various reasons for the last 6 years. I have never had a problem scheduling any appointments with her and she has always listened to my concerns and has helped me the best she can. She has referred me to other clinics if/when needed and provides me with a lot of outside resources. She is extremely responsive (via Secure Messaging) and I know for a fact that other PAs there do not respond, at all (my spouse’s PA at the same clinic, for example). I always thought I was lucky to have such a kind and caring primary care provider.

I am a vet and I went to see PA James at Fort Belvoir Community Hospital. She is one of the problems with the VA, her bedside manner is horrible. She is dismissive, disrespectful and acts bothered when patients have needs. Bottom line up front it's time those who have made sacrifices for this nation be treated as such.
