QUACK! QUACK!Like others have warned, don’t waste your time or money. I talked with him for an hour and tried to answer his odd questions. I rolled with it thinking maybe there was a method to his madness and he was trying to get a baseline. We agreed on a date and time for a follow-up in a week. I then got an email for an appointment in 2 days. I tried calling and emailing, no response so I cancelled the appointment online. I then got another email for an appointment a week later but at a time I couldn’t do. Again, tried to contact to fix, no response. Completely unresponsive. He sent me one boilerplate email with these generic recommendations:1) Use an app like CALM to help you relax2) Buy a book about CBT pain coping3) Join an online pain support groupThere, I just saved you time and money.

Gaslighting egoist
Telehealth
Only had one session with him and the amount of gaslighting about my medical history was over the top…he doesn’t believe in allergies, and my recent vestibular diagnosis was all in my head. He would interrupt me and loved stating all sort of studies to substantiate his opinion with his gaslighting. Is he really a doctor or a quack? I think the later. It was a pleasure confronting him of his unprofessional behavior in an email and state that I will not be needing his services.

We visited with Dr. Brent Van Dorsten per a request from my husbands neurologist for a phycological review. He fumbled to start the meeting and there were signs he was too busy and unprepared. He was unable to provide us with any help, guidance, or recommendations for treatment of my husbands pain. He seemed confused that anyone could ever be in so much pain. He glossed over his history and refused to acknowledge that his conditions could cause such a disability. He came across as just another Dr. wannabe elitist and is only concerned with self-promoting and the letters after his name. He ended up gaslighting us to end the call. Telling us to just try the drugs again. Even though they have never worked and have only made things worse. There was no regard for his medical PTSD . He was hurt further mentally and physically by his treatment. I cannot believe he is allowed to be around patients with chronic pain.

Most arrogant and condescending doctor I have ever met. Doesn't believe his patients are in pain and even minimizes it. Don't go to this doctor if you are in any kind of pain.

This guy is a quack. As I sat there in dysfunctional pain, he told me that is not how pain works. He literally jumped in my face and told me dentists do this all the time. 17 years later, I am still a chronic pain patient and the pain never goes away as I told this idiot the first day I met him.

Dr Van Dorsten spent much more time with me than I expected. He explained complex medical issues in a way that I could fully understand. I never expected to actually enjoy a doctor visit but he was extremely helpful and made the experience a pleasant one. I highly recommend him. You will be treated as a person rather than a patient.
