Highly recommend-Relatable, Empathetic
For me, it was very hard to find a therapist that was able to help with my specific mental health issues (Bi-polar, ADHD, OCD, GAD, delusion). I went to 5 different therapists before finding Brian. Once I had the first consultation, it was apparent that he would be able to help me. He is very knowledgeable, experienced, relatable, and empathetic. I have since moved away from Wisconsin and cannot find a therapist that I feel comfortable with. If I ever moved back to WI, I would definitely seek out therapy from Brian. I highly recommend him.

Supportive couples counselor
Telehealth
My partner and I have been working with Brian McKnight for 2-3 years and his counseling has been instrumental in our partnership. He is able to adapt his communication to our respective individual needs, and pushes us both to be better partners for each other. He has provided really helpful tools (we have a folder of worksheets at home that we use during high conflict conversations), book recommendations, and insights into the challenges of sharing your life and home with another person who has different wants and needs. I do not know if our relationship would have survived without Brian. In addition to his counseling, we enjoy chatting with him and making personal connections that have built trust and comfort. If you're thinking about bringing someone into your relationship to improve your partnership, I highly recommend Brian as a therapist.

Been to a bunch. He's the best
Been seeing him for the last nearly 2 years now. He's helped me in a lot of ways and helped me get diagnosed for ADHD when others just dropped the ball. He kept advocating to me. He's also helped me with PTSD, DP DR, tism and so much more. He doesn't make me feel judged or ridicule me for my unnconventional ways. He listens, calls me out on garbage I am doing wrong, and gives me better insight on how to communicate my feelings with boundaries. I would recommend him for anyone. And he has also done couples counseling for me, he's very neutral and his aim is to strengthen communication between people. 10 out of 10, I highly recommend him to anyone. I am thankful to finally have a longterm therapist who isn't biased on some level or another.

He should not be a counselor
We started out fine and we had hope for repairing our marriage. But it became apparent that he is not a good counselor. He never delved into either of our earlier lives that made it difficult for my wife to recognize and accept my love. He kept saying the past is not important. The heck it isn't. Had he helped my wife recognize that she was not loved by her parents, but she should have been, that she could recognize my love for her. I brought this up to Brian and he dismissed and ignored what I said. He does not like being challenged. We never picked up where we had left off in our previous session and often times we ended a session right in the middle of something important and we never reached closer on many things.

My wife and I went through couples counseling with Brian for about 6 months. We ended up getting a divorce but I believe that if Brian had done a better job by picking up on issues as they were brought up they could have been addressed and successfully resolved. He routinely let very obvious issues pass right by without ever digging into them. When I did challenge him on this he pointed to his degrees on the wall and said he knew more than me. He also seemed to be hitting on my wife because he would quite often reach out and touch her leg when talking with her and his hand seemed to linger just a bit longer than it should have. I would not recommend using Brian for your counseling. Most every time we would end our session while still in the midst of something important or troubling and then in our next session he would start out by asking us what we should talk about today. Did he not have notes? Are we not going to finish where we left off last time.
