I am suffering from panic attacks. I sought Dr. McCormick's counsel because I wanted to seek the help of someone whose experience and knowledge would exceed an LPC or Social Worker. After my first visit with an intake LPC he called me to tell me that he could not in good conscience treat me because of the socially conservative opinions I hold to. He fired me as a client out of political correctness. My view is that this speaks poorly of his status as a helping professional.

My spouse has been seeing Dr. McCormick for medication management. While he seems to have basic competency, and has not done anything close to malpractice, it has been a negative experience. He is condescending towards questions, and is impossible to reach by phone, even when there are urgent and debilitating side effects of the medications he has prescribed. If you need a prescription for Prozac, he may be a good fit. Otherwise, not so much.
