Carol Larson, LMHP

In my first appointment, Carol spent the majority of the time talking about herself. At that point in my life, I'd only ever seen one other therapist, so I didn't really know that was odd. She did the same thing in my second appointment, accept she also spent a bit of time in a condescending lecture about how a comforting scent might help me deal with my debilitating anxiety. Since then I've never had a therapist talk so much about themselves or suggest aromatherapy. If you want to vent to a motherly figure as a friend, maybe go see her. If you have real problems or mental health issues and require legitimate therapy, keep looking.

Carol was my therapist for about 5 years until I moved away from Kearney, and she even helped me over the phone for a while after that. Carol's instincts as a counselor were spot-on and she helped me face childhood trauma that I had never had the courage to work through before. Not only that, but Carol seemed to instinctively know which treatments/techniques would help me on specific days for specific elements of my trauma recovery. I will forever be grateful to her for her time, her patience, and how integrated our shared faith into my sessions.
