Chiros cause more harm than good
I wanted to reverse the stereotype about chiropractors but honestly, it holds true here. One, chiropractors, Dr. Hect in particular, should absolutely NOT be working on TBI patients. That is a line crossed. In one of my sessions he provided a story about a UNC swimmer he worked on who was diagnosed with a TBI, and saying to me in third person “he must have accidentally done something wrong” because she went into convulsive muscle spasms after their treatment, so she had to get a steroid shot. Two, chiropractors cause more harm than good. Example: Charles went to adjust my atlas (unnecessary), for my TBI which had NO EXISTING NECK issues, and in doing so he created cervicogenic headaches I never had before. I exclusively had band headaches. Furthermore, it’s been a month since that treatment and I still feel like I’m getting off a boat after working out, and get the back to front headaches repeatedly. Looking forward to seeing what the MRI says... spare yourself $, and don’t go here

I went to Dr. Hecht for acute lower back pain with pain radiating down my left leg. This had been going on for approximately 8 weeks and was persistent despite having been seen by an orthopedist and physical therapist at Duke. Dr. Hecht diagnosed the root cause of my back pain and set out a very reasonable treatment plan. I saw almost immediate relief and complete relief from my low back pain before my treatment plan was complete. Dr. Hecht recognized this fact and released me from his care with instructions to return as needed. I found Dr. Hecht to be friendly, competent and very thorough in his examination and treatment. I was left with a high degree of trust and confidence in his ability to provide appropriate and effective treatment.

I go to Dr. Hecht for acupuncture treatments. My chronic pain is sometimes helped by acupuncture during acute flare ups or if the inflammation isn’t responding to my usual therapies. Dr. Hecht has extensive knowledge and understanding of chronic pain and neuropathies. He listens to you and is very genuine and down to earth. I frequently recommend him to friends. He’s the best!

I had my initial appointment and was really turned off by the rudeness of the staff employee. I am disabled, needed help coming and she ignored me. She was loud when she spoke across the waiting room and violated my privacy. I waited 45 minutes to see the doctor. He was nice but couldn't make up for his employee. I wasn't informed about the prices and complained but the employee made a scene about it. I declined treatment because of the staff.
