I have only had one appointment with dr Spinazola, and Im no doubt not coming back. He replied and made the appointment quickly, but the moment I walked in and saw his extremely outdated neurofeedback system I already became worried. My worries were reinforced when I realized how unsympathetic and seemingly oblivious he was to my feelings. Hes simply not a good listener, I had to answer the same questions multiple times, and he will just brush over your thoughts. What really ticket me off is how he felt the need to tell me that he doesnt believe in diagnosis and medication just because I said I did. Really felt like the session ended up as an argument session instead of a therapy session which was really ironic. If you need someone who you can emotionally connect to, please do not come here.

Horrible listener/communicator
He does not care or respect the patient at all. He can't even listen or communicate as well as average people, just really eager to make you book as many sessions in advance as possible. My visits have been a traumatic experience.

I felt like he was very manipulative and took advantage of my time, money, and interest in therapy. His motives are quite egotistical: His convenience, his practice, his methodology, his ideas of what is 'right', his expertise (which is boasted at 50 years old, yet far outdated), and his notion of what is even 'true.' Reminds me of Trump.

I can't recommend Dr. Spinazola. I believe neurofeedback is a great technique, despite the fact that meta-studies show non-conclusive results about its efficiency. As with many other techniques related to mental conditions, an integral treatment is key. Here is where Dr. Spinazola falls short. He's a horrible listener, rushes his patients and doesn't seem to care about their questions related to the treatment. He oversells his technique in a very mechanistic way, and he uses relatively obsolete neurofeedback equipment. In hands of another provider that is more compassionate, and cares about the patient, I'm sure the same techniques and equipment would yield better results.

I received treatment from dr spinazola for depression. I experienced no positive effects from the neurofeedback (though dr spinazola virtually guaranteed me that I would be more or less fully “cured” very soon - making hyperbolic claims which seemed very dubious). While receiving neurofeedback, dr spinazola would half-heartedly attempt to engage in cognitive behavioral therapy. He was a very bad listener, and was quick to give glib and unhelpful advice.

D. Spinazola is a doctor who cares about getting to the root of the problem. His knowledge of methodologies and strategies for correcting or coping is vast and indeed workable within the daily life. It isn't easy to change...it is hard work, but he makes it reachable. His direct demeanor towards change (therapy) shows how passionate he is in making a difference for the better. I highly recommend!

People seek counseling and treatment like neurofeedback because they're suffering and want help - sometimes that help is even painful to ask for. This irresponsible and arrogant tool of a man is rude, cold, doesn't seem to know what he's doing as a practitioner, and clearly doesn't seem to enjoy either his work and/or his clients. I feel badly for those who see him when they're really down; he's the kind of therapist who gives the profession a bad name.

Curt, he thinks he knows you better than you know yourself. Thinks there is a simple fix for everything when there isn't. Rude, made me feel horrible a lot of the time. Doesn't listen well to what you have to say.

He knows his neurofeedback technology and gets results. If you can tolerate his personality you will see results. My child's anxiety is better in a year than all the meds and psychological services the previous 11 years. My complaint is that he is often antagonistic to my child. I also find it disheartening that major events that resulted in tears need to be refreshed each week as he forgets. He wants you to talk to him but never remembers details. Hard to build a trusting relationship.
