Dr. Chelsea Apperson, DNP

I loved her. She was so caring and supportive during one of the most difficult times of my life. I was sorry to hear she was leaving. She has helped me so much.

Dr. Chelsea's approach is both professional and personal during my time in her care. She established a genuine bond with me and my concerns that is both professional and personal, has excellent skills in listening to my presenting clinical issues, remembering what we discussed to meaningfully reconnect, and advising realistic strategies to move forward. I look forward to our continuing relationship knowing I will be well-served by her as my doctor.

Just happened to see my provider with a low review on this site and felt I had to share my experience. For me, Dr. Chelsea Apperson has been hands down the best psychiatrist I have ever had. Period. Going on 1yr+ I think now. Why? She is the only one who always asks me genuine questions about my wellbeing, shows interest in the whole person, refers back to details or important events that shows she is listening and makes you feel seen, engages me in a collaborative way with my care, is easy to talk to, checks for medication interactions, gives clear titration plans and explanations, she welcomes questions, and is really overall very knowledgeable. But NOT in a blinded by ego mind already made up before they even meet you type of Dr. In the past some of my psych experiences could have been handled better by a robot and some just never showed up. I’m surprised to read the low review but I get some people or situations might not connect. I know the office has had its ups and downs but that never impacted my telemed psych appointments. Anyway from someone who has had A LOT of doctors and this isn't their first rodeo: I feel respected and safe as a patient, I've overcome lifelong barriers in my mental health while in their care, and have gained quite a lot of respect for Dr. Apperson. So if you need a rock star psych who cares and is smart, with good availability, is punctual (which naturally makes me try to be more punctual lol), and part of a good clinic I wouldn't look any further. I see her at Trinity Integrated which has a nice smaller family practice feel and is good with scheduling, has telemed, and everyone is very friendly in my experience :) Just sayin

I started seeing Dr. Chelsea 3yrs ago. Heart of COVID so I never had any in-person appointments, only zoom calls. When I first began seeing her, it was every month, 30 day script. Eventually, it devolved into a 2 min call every 3 months, 90 day script. I'm not an open person, I have a psychiatrist giving me anxiety medication for a reason, I'm not good at conversing. That doesn't mean ask me, "How are you doing?" & "Has anything changed recently?", write my script, and hang up 3 min later in what is at least a 15 min appt. Not sure as I never reached a point where I ran out of time. FFWD to today, I've been discharged for "cancelling appts" (cancelled 1, tried to reschedule 4+ times. never got a response.) The front office doesn't answer calls, doesn't return calls, and never emailed my discharge notice that only happened due to their incompetency leaving me with no doc or meds. Was confirmed by Jackie @ front office no emails ever sent to me in 3yrs. Dr. never personally reached out.
