Cherrie is an amazing counselor. This was the most difficult thing our family has had to go through. She is tough. It is hard. I feel like her 1 star review is more a reflection of how difficult ED is to treat, and likely not a reflection of her as a counselor. Initially we were shocked at weight gain expectations and the whole program of FBT. I had my doubts early on that it would not work, that she could not help us. It has almost been 2 y since we first met and my child is doing amazing without the self imposed limits ED puts on people. We are closer. I am so grateful.

Cherie made us feel like we were inept, that she knew how manipulative our child was before even meeting them and that w/the right punishment, we could push our kid to get better. Yes, FBT is evidenced based and may work for some. But, be prepared to be told that your child will need to gain 10 more pounds than any other ED professional in the industry. Two MDs, 2 LPCs and 2 dietitians told us that FBT restorative weight is based on an adult model. Mostly, Cherie is off-putting and arrogant.
