Life Changing Program
This pain recovery program is tough, challenging and life altering, but it’s not meant to be fluffy, easy and soothing. I needed help breaking a pain cycle that was controlling my life and driving me downward in a terrible spiral. The PRC has done this for me. I cannot compliment the Dr Sletten, the other drs, nurses and staff enough! I give them the highest praise. They did NOT do this program for me, nor did they make this program easy for me, INSTEAD they forced me to stand on my own two feet and earn it myself. It was difficult at times, I freely admit that, but they did stand with me as I CHOSE to progress and they encouraged me then through PRC. Life is not easy, but I now have tools and determination to succeed on my own. That’s not easily taught. Thank you Dr Sletten and Team for investing in me and still believing in me through Aftercare! This is an incredible program. Don’t miss this opportunity.

Mayo Pain Rehab Center
I believe like anything else in life you get back what you put in..this program gave me the jumpstart and tools I needed to stop focusing on the circumstances that lead me with a physical condition and chronic pain and focus on what was important and satisfying in my life (family, experiences, community). I’m a stubborn, perfectionist, “I know better than you” kind of woman and it took a tough professional like Dr. Sletten to challenge and get through to me that my anger and resentment towards the past were actually making my symptoms worse! The 3 week program is intensive and exhausting. At 62, there were times I wanted to quit and go home. However, I knew if I left early the life I wanted moving forward would be lost forever. The staff WANTS you to succeed and help you move forward with your life So if you don’t like the direction your life is headed get off the pity pot, put on your big girl pants and head to Mayo Clinic’s PRC program. You are worth it!!

Only interested in money. Patients don’t count. The whole program is a farce. Don’t waste your money. Your treated like a number without any care or compassion.

Bully. Used physical size and demeaning language to intimidate. Openly mocked me in front of other patients. Those patients sought me out later, in private, to say they found his behavior totally unacceptable.

Worst doctor ever! His PRC program is a way to get tons of money from insurance companies while patients have to pay a lot of money for deductibles, food and lodging for 3.5 weeks if not local, and they get treated like crap. He is not a good physician and he is unkind to patients. I’m shocked he’s still running their program!

Very disappointed PRC patient – Apr 20, 2021

Recently participated in "family day" via zoom to support a family member who was going through Sletten's pain clinic at Mayo. The stories my family member brought home from the three week class were horrible!!! I just cannot believe Mayo supports this program. Sletten likes to single out and bully patients. The behavior described is just short of abusive. The guy is a fraud. Also, you'd think they'd understand HIPAA a little better? Not sure why Mayo thinks it's okay to send out a mass email invite for zoom with everyone's name and email attached to it.

He’s a horrible “doctor”. He doesn’t know what moderation is although he preaches it. He puts everyone in a box and thinks we are all the same. The program does not work for many but it helps some. It you are easily manipulated and lied to, this may be right for you. He’s the biggest jerk With Dr in front of his name. He is condescending and insulting to patients. He pretends to care but he absolutely does not. He only cares about the money the program brings in, which is A LOT! A failure of a program!

Dr. Sletten and his staff run a fantastic Pain Rehab Program. They know their business better than the many other treatment options and doctors I've seen in the previous 30 years. I'm so thankful I found them and had the resources to take advantage of this 3 week program. It takes a lot of work on my part but they have supported me and been responsive to my needs. All I have to do is email a question and they get back to me in a timely fashion. I've never had a problem in the 3 years since I graduated. This program gave me a second chance at life.

Never would I recommend this doctor, if you can even call him that! His pain clinic is a one size fits all, although he can talk a good talk as though it is tailored to your specific needs. Then he sends patients home and there is no way to contact him or office staff during the “rehab” period. No one answers the phone or will contact you upon leaving a message. There are far better pain clinics out there. Just because he has Mayo’s name attached, does not mean that he and his staff are giving.
