Danneel Hubbell, LCSW

After a 15-minute consult call on which I was succinct about my therapeutic goals, Danneel said she would work with me and we scheduled an intake session. The intake was lengthy as she asked many questions about my life, relationships, past, etc. At the end of the session, she referred me to another practice for a type of therapy that isn’t remotely appropriate for my goals. Further, on our call, she mentioned that she doesn’t look like her professional photo anymore in that she not longer has long, blonde hair. She failed to mention that she’s also about 25 years older. Immediately following our session, she collected payment. I was perplexed by her behavior and disappointed because I thought I had found a therapist who might be a good fit. Between the outdated photo and having me sit through an intake session only to refer me elsewhere for the wrong type of therapy made me suspicious that she never had an intention of working with me. It felt like catfishing, to put it candidly.

She helped me get through some very stressful years. She would let me talk about literally anything on my mind, and I was very comfortable opening up to her.

Best therapist, and very relatable.

During my few sessions with Danneel, she talked substantially more than I did. There were times when I wanted to elaborate on things I was saying, but she wouldn't stop talking in order for me to. I do think she cares about people, but I don't think she was meant to be a therapist. She gave some good advice and tips, but the main reason I went to therapy was because I needed someone to listen to me, not talk over me.
