Daphne Moked, LMSW

After working with Daphne for 2 years, she ended our therapeutic relationship without warning. I have a history of hospitalizations and multiple traumas, so her decision was not only unethical, but also unsafe. Upon reflection, there were red flags along the way. 1. My appointment time was consistent for the entirety of our relationship. However, I rarely saw the same person twice in the slot that followed. 2. Being "ill-equipped" to help me contradicts the credentials on her website. 3. Her fee got higher every few months. 4. Even though she'd file insurance claims, the reimbursements were always made out to her name, and I would not receive a refund from Daphne for weeks after she received checks from the insurance company. 5. Appointments were abruptly canceled or Daphne was late to arrive.

Daphne abruptly ended our working relationship a week after my grandmother committed suicide without offering me any references to other services or providers, and told me that it was because I kept metaphorically “slamming doors” in her face every time she tried to take a new approach. She also blatantly ignored the boundaries I tried to set while talking about my experiences of sexual violence. Though I told her I did not want to discuss my rapes in depth at that time, she spent the entire hour left in our session interrogating me about them in direct contradiction of my straightforward request that she respect my wishes with regard to my own trauma.
