Don't 'Interrupt' him.
My final (3rd) session was confrontational. He expressed irritation when I apparently Interrupted him. If you are neurodivergent, go elsewhere. Dr. Berkovitz is not sensitive or aware of alternate behaviors nor does he acknowledge them.

Extremely capable, competent & great professional
We reached out to Dr. Berkovitz at a time of great need for our family. From day one he was able to create dialogue between my wife and I, we have been married 10 years and as it happens sometimes couples stop listening to each other and they only hear each other. Since the first session we both knew we had found one of those great professionals that made us feel at ease and confident we could get better as a couple, parents and people in general. We honestly look forward to our weekly sessions with Dr. Berkovitz and couldn't have been luckier to come across his name.

Takes the time to understand me, not just parrot
I have been meeting with Dr. Berkovitz weekly for over a year now and I am very, very glad that I was introduced to him by a friend and neighbor who also meets with him. Dr. Berkovitz, I feel, doesn't just parrot off the shelf advice from books and cliches. He takes the time to figure out my unique situation and what advice might be appropriate for me and how to best help myself and those around me to be more comfortable with me. I have limited space here so let me just say that I am very glad that I have Dr. Berkovitz looking out for me! (I cannot account for the negative reviews here. They don't line up with my experience.)

The best investment I make in myself every week.
After having tried several therapists (male, female, old, young and in between), I am so happy to have found Dr. David Berkovitz. The difference between Dr. Berkovitz and other therapists is that he actually helps you analyze the situation you are in so that you can arrive at a conclusion. Unlike other therapists, he doesn't just listen to you and spit back what you told him. He will help you reframe situations so that you can understand them better, and guide you on a path to overcome your difficulties. He will even tell you - gently - if you are wrong about something you are thinking about or something you are doing. If you want a nice therapist that will listen to you and never challenge you in any way...go to someone else. If you want a real therapist that will help you through your tough times, go to Dr. Berkovitz.

While his practice was made conditional because of inappropriate interactions with a female client. There were and are many complaints of Dr. Berkovitz ethics, honesty and competence. He claims to be remorseful. But there are people who have been negatively affected by Dr. Berkovitz in some cases caused pain and anguish that have occurred currently.
