Dr. David Wenz, OD

Just had my eye appointment this morning. Every year for 20 years I have been going to this office. Never had a problem. I have never had my eyes dilated as I am not comfortable doing so. They have always given me a scan that cost $39 out of pocket that they told me was sufficient. This morning after telling Dr. Wenz i didn’t want my eyes dilated he seemed annoyed with me, and seemed to have cut my visit short, not even addressing my new vision issue I had mentioned. He told me the $39 scan was very limited to what he could see. I would need my eyes dilated to see tears, tumors, and cancers, etc. Basically the scan I had was worthless. Every other year it was sufficient, and he always went over it in detail with me. But it was apparent he was upset with my decision not to have my eyes dilated, and I had to ask him what the scan even revealed as he was about to cut my visit short. After being a patient almost 20 years I will not be returning.

Excellent experience. Great staff and care by Dr. Wentz. I feel I had a very comprehensive exam. Pleased.

I have seen Dr. Wenz for several years and no problem with the eye examinations. However, ran into a snag when I was referred for cataract surgery to a physician that after the examination from this referred surgeon, I preferred to see a different doctor for the surgery. I have been trying to get a referral to Wilmington Eye for over a week and they seem unable to make this referral to a physician of my choice, but really don't know what the issue is as I rarely can speak to anyone but have to leave voicemails and never receive a call back. At one point I was told the referral was made but Wilmington Eye has no record of receiving anything from this office.

Dr. Wenz always seems rushed. He was incapable of correcting a problem I had with one of my lenses, even though he prescribed it. I left unable to see as well as when I went in to see him.

I saw Dr Wenz this morning and was impressed by the location and professional + friendly staff. Dr Wenz helped explain my diagnosis to me in laymans terms.
