Dr. Dawn Del Rio, PHD

Dr Dawn has helped me soooo much !! I had anxiety, abandonment issues and attachment issues which started from a childhood trauma. She is so easy to talk to… like talking to a trusted friend. She is never judgmental. She has given me exercises to work on so I could get past the rough spots and move past the trauma. I can’t thank her enough for the perspective she continues to provide and the healing she continues to help me to accomplish. I am more whole now than I have ever been. I highly recommend !!

Dawn is amazing she's helped me with coping skills, stress management, and slowly trusting others. There was never an appointment where I didn't feel relieved or at least least stressed after. She's a great listener and non-judgmental when helping you get through your emotions to get to the basis of why you feel a particular way. If your looking for a therapist she's the best I've ever had!

Wow, I don't know where I would be without Dawn! She definitely has been one of the most resourceful therapists I've ever had. There was never a challenge I posed to her about my life that was too big; because we tackled each problem together, one step at a time. She was very knowledgeable about a lot of personal and serious life events that I was encountering. She validated me and empowered me each and every session. She was patient when I was patient with myself. It was truly a pleasure working with her! If you want a therapist that is going to make you control of your mental health and way of thinking, I would 1000% recommend.

I have been with Dawn for over 20 years, I would not go anywhere else. She has been there for me through everything, it is almost impossible to put into words. If it was not for her I would not be here today. She is kind, compassionate and understanding. She listens thoroughly. I appreciate her more than anyone could ever understand. (other appointments for my other Drs. ) Very insightful and intuitive.. wealth of knowledge from DBT classes and often offers her knowledge to help in ANY situation.. She helps make me feel empowered .. to tackle life's ups and downs, and adds insight to any situation that's discussed!!

I've been seeing Dawn for years after a bad medical diagnosis. She helped me through everything, even the lowest point in my life. She doesn't just help you get through things but knows nutrition, medicine and resources needed. If needed she will help you find needed information. I don't know where I would be without her support and guidance. I'm in such a better place now and my future is looking so much brighter!In the beginning I seen her in person and now our visits are online, and just as helpful. The online visits work great now that I'm back to work.

Dawn is truly a one of a kind therapist. She always makes me feel like my issues are her number one priority. Dawn is an amazing listener who provides fantastic techniques for getting me back on track.

Due to Insurance issues I was devastated to have to find a new therapist. It has turned out to be a wonderful experience. Although I was happy with my previous therapist, I have found Dr. Del Rio to be a better fit for me. From the first appointment with her I’ve felt comfortable and have the feeling she understands me and has made many suggestions that are helping me continue to improve my life.

I have only been seeing Dawn a couple months. I'm 32 and have never seen a therapist. Mental illnesses weren't discussed in my family. After suffering my whole life I decided it was time for me I do something about it. In just a couple months, I have learned a lot about myself and my triggers. I have been able to handle situations better. Especially being diagnosed with severe PTSD, severe depression, anxiety, and BPD. She always listens and provides helpful tips and insights. I always find myself smiling and laughing during our appointments. I would definitely recommend her as a therapist. I don't plan on changing ever! Dawn has worked with me for years. She has helped me in so many ways with dealing with My mental issues. She really makes me think about how I view things. I have noticed since I have been seeing her that I have been getting better. I have gotten past my suicidal thoughts. I look for other ways of dealing with the pain. Dawn has many more attributes that make her "my life coach" we've laughed about. She doesn't provide answers, good therapists won't. They may ask questions to help you decide the answer or rifht.move for you and Dawn has a great skillswt. From regular therapy, crisis therapy, as she made herself available while I was losing immediate family, to being resourceful and does all this unbiased with full integrity. I have the fortune of seeing Dawn as a therapist for many years, I moved away and recently came back and was accepted by her again. She has literally been the best therapist that I have ever gone to (which has been a few). She actively listens and gives the best advice. I would recommend her to anyone.

Dawn was my supervisor during my MSW program. Dawn was an amazing supervisor and helped shape me into the therapist I am today. Before meeting Dawn, my confidence in my abilities as a therapist were super low. She helped me rebuild my confidence and provided me with excellence guidance and wisdom more so than my actual program. I am so thankful for the time I was able to spend with her as my mentor. While she has a remarkable amount of knowledge about a wide variety of therapy-related material, she is able to communicate it in a way that doesn't make you feel overwhelmed. Almost every conversation with her is filled with invaluable nuggets of information that I still use today. She also has an uncanny ability to assess you and your therapy work, and provide such insightful feedback based on her assessment. As her intern, you can expect the early days of your internship to be filled by shadowing, discussing, & diving into some research, and working your way up to doing independent therapy with your own clients. I remember feeling overwhelmed with doing independent therapy as an intern, but Dawn is sure to pick up on your strengths and build on those. I cannot recommend her enough as a supervisor.

She supported me to start seeing therapy clients of my own, encouraging me and helping me develop and grow my skills as a clinician.
