Called Deborah 6/19. Lft msg asking for single appt re discerning potential issues for our son. Asked about a “courtesy” appt. or sliding scale. She called back. We discussed my financial limits and a courtesy or sliding scale appt. She didn’t object or say no. Said she’d squeeze us in after her trip away and to call back, if I hadn’t heard from her. I did so. She didn’t call back. I followed up. She returned my call. We worked out a general time to meet. Waiting to hear she’d work us in as a courtesy or discounted rate, she quotes $225 for the visit and says there’s no way to discount it. My jaw dropped. When I said the fee was out of our league, she was basically done with me and the call. What?! She led me to believe she’d work w/ us financially but then missed or ignored that. Either case isn’t ideal. Maybe she’ll be great for you. But if you sense any misunderstanding, this might serve as warning that clear (or compassionate) communication isn’t her strong suit. Thanks.
