Outstanding Therapist
Telehealth
Many years ago, my life was a complete disaster in every way, and I decided to find a therapist for some help. I started working with Debby, and things began to turn around. Today, my life is better than I ever believed possible, and I honestly feel that it would not have happened without her. Debby even inspired me to become a licensed therapist myself, and I continue to utilize everything I’ve learned, passing it along to my own clients. I highly recommend her, and I know for a fact that she has a rare and special talent for helping others that is practically impossible to find.

Has helped me for over a decade
I’ve been working with Debbie on and off since I’ve been 18. She’s supported and helped me through some of the hardest times in my life. She has provided me with the encouragement, knowledge and tools to help navigate through difficult moments. I’ve grown so much under her guidance and I truly enjoy learning how to become the best version of myself - and I owe that largely to her. Would highly recommend her skills and expertise!

Thank goodness I found her!
I’ve been seeing Ms. Gellis for a number of years. I started with her at a most vulnerable period in my life, and she was completely there for me. I’m not sure where I would be if not for her.I’m extremely grateful that she is a terrific listener and guides me, but does not give me answers. I do the work, and I see it was well worth everything I did to achieve the goals I have reached. I moved from having appointments every week, to having them every other week, to now meeting with her every three weeks. I imagine there will be an end date, but I also know that if I do stop seeing her but need her in the future, I know that she’ll be there for me.

I am a current patient of Deborah Gellis and I find her to be empathetic, caring and very sincere and felt instantly connected to her and her warm energy. She is an excellent listener and knows how to guide the session but also is able to hear and see where I am at and what I need and shift and adjust. I feel honored to work with her and am looking forward to having her as a part of my journey of healing process.

I was a patient of Debbie’s about 9 years ago during my early twenties. I found her on psychologytoday and called her. Her voicemail stated she was fully booked, yet I broke down and left her a message crying anyways. She called back, not knowing me, and spoke to me for about 40 minutes, enough to make me feel better. She then rearranged her schedule and booked our first session. Therapy with her was so effective, that years later, I still recommend her when I know somebody needs help. Debbie saw me at a very confusing time of my life and was able to help me build myself up after trauma, resentment, and abuse. She was motherly, yet stern. Very progressional, yet caring; and most of all, she was extremely introspective. Instead of giving me answers, she helped me explore the reasoning behind my thoughts and actions, then guided me into a more positive way of thinking. She helped me a lot. I moved states, and virtual sessions weren’t popular back then, but I am grateful for her.

Extremely unprofessional and unethical. Disorganized . Projects her own feelings into sessions. She appears to need validation of how good she is. She takes any improvement a patient makes as her accomplishment. When confronted with any difference of opinion, she becomes defensive and terminates. Her termination lacks any sincere concern for the patient, and ridiculous referrals are made that do not even represent the client's presenting issue. Just an overall difficult personality to work with.
