Denise McKoy, LCSW-C

I began meeting with Denise McKoy in March of '23. I thought I finally met a counselor I was comfortable with and who would be able to assist with my diagnosis. Well, things went downhill quickly. I started exhibiting behavior she didn't understand. Instead of researching and learning about my diagnosis to become knowledgeable, she was very unprofessional and telling me I was lying and making things up. This is not how a healthcare professional is supposed to interact with their clients. She also documented false information in my records that I never told her. When I requested that she sends me a copy of my records, she responded by saying she'll send a summary and she has the right not to disclose all of her records to me. I've never heard of such a thing. My experience with her ended up being a nightmare. I really hopes she takes the time to learn and become knowledgeable of my specific diagnosis so no one else has to be treated how I was by her.
