Donna Sanford, LCSW

She helped me through a lot of life issues, if you’re looking for a therapist then she is one for you. Highly recommended. I have had 2 other therapists over the years and she is the best. The one bad review below should probably look for a listening ear in a stranger or a friend not a therapist.

I cannot recommend Donna enough as a Social Worker. She genuinely cares and helps me work through many of the struggles in my personal life. She is very knowledgeable on a variety of topics ranging from stress and anxiety, domestic challenges, substance abuse, PTSD, etc. She provides an opportunity to talk things through and while sessions are not always easy, they get right to the root of the issue. I never feel like her time is rushed and every session I walk away with a stronger sense of self and purpose.

I did not have a good experience meeting with Donna for counseling with my husband. She might be a good fit for some people, but she wasn't for us. She was tough on me and it just was not at all what I needed. In an already fragile state (had a panic attack during the session), she actually said to me, "how can you expect your husband to love you if you can't love yourself first?" That really upset me. Just wasn't what I needed at the point. When opening up about having a dependency on alcohol she told me to "just stop drinking." It's not that simple. I can see how she might work for some people, but she is not the right fit if you're looking for someone with a warm and inviting personality. We saw here once and she never even followed up on us.

Donna always leads me to the questions I need to be asking myself. She is knowledgeable in many areas and has skillfully assisted with a variety of issues within my family. I am grateful for her wisdom and to the friend that recommended her to me.
