I can't say enough good about Gulf Coast Counseling and Doris Garis. The receptionist was courteous and friendly in making my appointment and checking my insurance benefits. My therapist, DJ Garis was kind, compassionate and really cared for me in helping me address some long-standing issues. Would recommend her to anyone and everyone who needs help in managing stress in their lives.

4 minutes ago Hager, the man who took my call for an appointment kept having to call me back as he was busy, then when finally connecting, for no reason halfway into the call said I wasn’t a good fit for the practice. I am bedridden with a broken foot and in need of counseling. His treatment of me has me devastated. I did nothing wrong except to ask questions regarding the submission of my signed Medicare form, which can’t be mailed due to being unable to put weight on foot and being alone. What kind of counseling service would treat a potential patient needing help in this way? I am mortified. How sad for someone potentially suicidal and that is no joke. PS I am seeing all of the angry commentary on google from this office to those unhappy with how they were treated and all I can say is, how sad and bizarre that a counseling practice would behave in this manner. Somehow, someway I will figure out a way report you to the proper medical boards.
