Elizabeth Walsh, LCSW

I have had some pretty disturbing experiences in the mental health system, but Elizabeth Kirby Walsh was one of the worst. I was struggling with serious PTSD after surviving a dehumanizing 28 hour trauma where I witnessed and experienced violence; I am a torture survivor. She didn't believe that what happened to me was trauma or unjust and invalidated that I had PTSD, even as I was breaking out in a hot red itchy rash in her office (she speculated that it was a candida rash; it was PTSD hives). She is committed to being an authority figure and strongly supports involuntary hospitalization. Also, I was preparing to go no-contact with my toxic family and she was vigorously opposed to me holding my parents accountable for how they had harmed me. She said, so many times, "But they're you're family!" They terrorized me; today I know that my ex-family was at the root of all my mental health issues. I needed to escape to heal... and Kirby Walsh never would have helped me get there.
