Cannot recommend Nurse Hughes. She asked questions, but did not listen to the answers. Talked over me until I had to ask her to stop. When I could get her to listen, it turns out she knows her stuff. But I thought there were unreasonable expectations. For example, one week out from my TKR she said other patients a week used over the counter meds alone. I asked what kind? No response. At one point I had to go to Urgent Care because I was prescribed 40 pain pills instead of 48 to get through 6 days on a holiday weekend when office policy demands no meds are refilled. It didn't occur to me to ask specifically how many pills would be prescribed that long weekend. Afterward, I found it necessary to count the pills and figure out my own plan of treatment for reduction and to get through therapy appointments. Asked for another nurse but was unsuccessful. Though other nurses would call to answer my questions when I asked about how to handle unexpected prescription changes without notice.

Not much of a bedside manner. Very brief and uncaring. Was very put off by her voluntering her political opinions. Totally inappropriate.
