Mr. Dowd engages easily, applying a broad base of understanding to one’s personality and addiction patterns. He is directive and supportive toward a person’s recovery via breaking/confronting denial while uncovering a person’s strengths and teaching alternative healthy cognitive coping skills. Highly recommended.

George is very professional and respectful. He is a good listener and easy to talk to. He provides the utmost encouragement and support. George is very knowledgeable and has great feedback. He is understanding and very accommodating when it comes to scheduling sessions around a very busy schedule.

Excellent. Very professional, easy to talk to. He is a good listener, and very knowledgeable. Appointments were never rushed. He runs the office alone, so really no staff. He always responded to phone messages quickly. I would definitely recommend him to friends and family.

Counseling for alcoholism. George is up to date on alcohol, opioids and sexual addiction. He also brings into the counseling medication options through family medicine physicians or addiction specialists. He runs the office solo, so staff friendliness wasn’t marked since there isn’t additional staff. His hours accommodate individual counseling and group. He also offers groups for medical professionals.

He is very unethical during sessions and would tell the group things about other group members that they may not want to have disclosed. As a woman, I often felt uncomfortable because of some of the conversations the guys would have with George...it was like locker room talk in a therapy session.

This "professional" seriously violated my privacy by inviting a family member to a counseling session without my consent or knowledge. Looking back on this a few years later, I can confidently say that he damaged far more than he helped.
