Dr. Recknagel was an amazing advisor, guide, and facilitator of change in my life. He uses the approach of Schema Therapy which really worked well for the (dysfunctional) way I'd learned to see the world and myself. "It's not easy and it's not painless" but if you're ready and willing...well... it was absolutely life changing work for me.

I've never had this happen before, but Dr. Recknagel stood me up for my appointment. I left work early, paid to ride the bus there, was 30 minutes early, waited until 5 minutes AFTER the appointment time, called him, texted and knocked on the door during the wait to no avail, and... still haven't heard a word from the man. Weird. I has suspicions something was off when his first return phone call to me was at 9pm, and noticed he has a hard time with time management during the sessions.

Unfortunately after our first initial couples therapy appt. extensive paperwork/ quizzes and confirming our desire to continue therapy with him he never responded back to multiple voicemails and emails so that we could schedule a second appt. it has been 3 months now and no response. Really frustrating. Maybe our relationship could have been salvaged 3 months ago...

In a second situation where I am in need of Dr Recknagel to provide paperwork to LOA company for my job. Both situations have resulted in MONTHS Of phone calls emails and text messages to him with ZERO response. now in situation where I will not be compensated for 3 months of LOA because he simply would not respond to myself, my husband or the disability company, abandoned by our therapist emotionally.- so crushing. Would not have begun therapy with him had I known. Broken!

He is triggered by small incidents and gets his feathers ruffled. Doesn't even try to logically assess the situation when that happens. It's odd that such a person could be regarded as an authority in psychology.

My 3rd appt, he double-booked. We waited 30min & left. We called & emailed him that day to reschedule, but no response. I finally got ahold of him 2 days later & made another appt. After this, I scheduled a 4th appt but he emailed me that he needed to reschedule. I responded with a time/day but never received a response back. I emailed him again & called but nothing. I finally called to officially cancel the appt to prevent a cancel fee & asked him to call me. I never heard from him again.
