Dr. Price was generally pleasant during the evaluation if a little condescending - but given that most of her patients are likely children, that made sense to me. However, the positive aspects ended there. The follow up appointment, where I received my diagnostic results, was rescheduled once or twice by about a week, and when the appointment came, she was over an hour late. When she did finally call (phone appt), she began with, “Ugh, this week will never end!” to which my boyfriend (who accompanied me for moral support) mouthed to me, “Sorry to be a bother, I guess?” Dr. Price then proceeded to tell me she had not completed the evaluation report at all but said, “So the way I’m leaning right now,” “So I’m feeling like,” and ending with “I’m thinking you probably don’t have [diagnosis].” It cost over $1000 for this evaluation (not covered by insurance for adults) and it wasn’t even completed. She was clearly unprepared after already rescheduling and being absent the entire appointment time, only showing up to call after I was supposed to already be back at work. It was a stressful enough experience to save the money for the test, drive the hour to the initial evaluation, do the test, complete all the accompanying paperwork, have to reschedule the follow up, and have her not show for over an hour. But to then find out she had not completed the very evaluation we were supposed to go over? I asked a few very basic follow-up questions, to which she replied that it was all “very complicated” and difficult to explain. But she had already stated earlier in the call that I scored in the 99th percentile on the cognitive test, so I struggled to understand why I was now apparently incapable of receiving an explanation. I’d like to think Dr. Price was simply having a bad day, but I also don’t wish that to affect anyone’s medical testing experience, particularly to the extent it affected mine. And as the cherry on top: I got a second opinion (if we’re counting this one, which may be overly generous), and the way she was “leaning” was wrong. I do have the diagnosis. Save your time, money, and confusion. Best of luck.
