Hua Ou, MA

Our family saw her for YEARS. She helped us through various things, always with patience and practicality. Her advice may not always be what you WANT to hear, but what you NEED. It's kind of the point of therapy, you need someone willing to challenge you in order to grow. She is a lovely human being and I couldn't recommend her highly enough.

Before any session with Hua, I was wondering why a therapist like her, who accepts almost all insurance, in an area where most of the therapists do not have much opening, wonderfully always have opening within a week or even the next day. After a few sessions with her, I quickly get to the point. To summarize, first, the best I could describe her is “not smart”, she also lacks professional skills nor enough expertise. Second, she is not that into her patients’ needs, in every new session she forgets most of what had gone through in the previous sessions, and she will just ask “what do you want to talk about today”, then start listening. She admits that her major strategy is to listen. Third, she messes up her own rules as written in the contract, and messes up the bills, towards a direction that benefits her. I had to have many emails with her to explain her incorrect billing to my insurance company, and eventually got the billing issue addresses three months after my visit- nightmare!
